About

My career began and evolved in the hospitality and travel industry across the UK and Ireland and developed in a range of senior management positions. Since forming Dál Riata in 1995 I have developed a highly regarded reputation for executive and business coaching, facilitation and project management across a wide range of organisations in multiple sectors. I have expanded on these on the related pages on this website.

When not at work there are many things that help to make me tick! Being among family, good friends and walking our dog [Riley] across Glasgow’s many green spaces is never taken for granted. Other influences?

Music – I have a wide appreciation and love to dip into my small vinyl collection of Jazz, Americana, Gospel and Classical. I’ve recently connected a DAB radio to the amplifier, great way to keep up to date with the music world!

Places – I love going ‘home’ to the North Coast of Northern Ireland to the sight and sounds of the Atlantic. Happy to be anywhere by the water in Scotland too! I would travel back to Slovenia again and again, it has so much to offer for culture, adventure and loads of hidden gems.

Food – I love cooking and have many pasta favourites, as long as they include chilli! I wouldn’t say no to a ribeye steak cooked rare with a glass of Pinot Noir.

Reading – I have a pause in my reading right now! I have 5000 words completed in my first attempt at writing a novel. Watch this space!!!

Leisure time – Has to be on the saddle of my Giant Daily Tour e-bike or 18 holes of links golf or family time around the dinner table.

Drink – Being a Co-owner of Lacada Brewery, craft beer has to be right up there but so too does a double espresso or a glass of red wine. A cold ginger beer deserves a mention!

Who would I invite to dinner? – My fictional character would be Jimmy McGill better known as the main character in ‘Better Call Saul’. My real life guests would be Jools Holland [his musical influences are vast and I just think he’d be a bit of fun] and Jodie Comer as herself [and hopefully Villanelle could join for the cheese course!].
